Reading in KG3B and KG3B’s students of the month

Every week we read books in KG3B. This week all our books where about pets. This week Nada and Hilal where also awarded Sudent of the Month, congratulations ladies! The topics we are going to study next week:

Language Arts:

– Reading

– Reading comprehension

– Students will identify beginning – and ending sounds of words.

– Students will blend the sounds in words.

– Students will identify the number of sounds in a word.

– Sort common objects into categories (e.g., shapes, foods) to gain a sense of the concepts the categories represent.

– Read common high-frequency words by sight (e.g., the, of, to, you, she, my, is, are, do, does).

– When writing a sentence students will use a capital letter at the start of the sentence.

– When writing a sentence students will leave space between the words.

– When writing a sentence students will use a full stop at the end of the sentence.

– Students will make a drawing about the sentence they wrote.

– Students will identify the verb and noun in sentences.

– Letter sounds (this week we focus on the letters ‘x’ and ‘v’)

– Handwriting (this week we focus on the letters ‘x’ and ‘v’)

Math:

– Students will use logical reasoning to solve problems.

– Students will identify shapes in objects and use shapes to create new objects.

– Students will identify, name, and describe cubes and spheres.

KG3B learns about recycling

6 In Science Class KG3B has been learning about natural resources and recycling. After this we did some recycling ourselves by painting plastic bottles which can now be reused as flower pots. Please see underneath for some more photos and an overview of what we are going to study next week. 1245

KG3B: Painting the flag of The Netherlands

In KG3B we are very busy preparing for International Day. Yesterday we painted some Dutch flags for our decoration on International Day. We found out that the Dutch flag looks a lot like an other flag we know very well, can you guess which one?
